About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, conscientious person to join our Support team in Cornwall as a Housing Support Assistant in our Young Parents supported scheme in St Austell.

Carthew House provides short-term housing and support to vulnerable young parents who need help to move towards independence and become an active member of the community.

This role involves working evenings and sleeping nights to provide a safe, secure and supportive service.  You will support and monitor the conduct, health, safety and general welfare of residents with a flexible and sensitive approach.  
 
You will part of a team of support staff but as a Housing Support Assistant you will be lone working at night with young parents at Carthew House.

Experience of working in support services is preferred along with excellent communication skills, adaptability and resilience as you will often be dealing with some very challenging situations and people. You will need to work with confidence, be able to assess needs and risk, be a good listener, see the bigger picture and build trusting relationships.

You will need to be an organised, motivated, flexible and creative person to undertake and develop this role working with a wide range of people.

This role is being offered on a full time basis, working 37 hours per week on a rolling rota, to include weekend working.  Bandwidth hours will be 7pm to 9am.
