About The Role

As a Scheme Manager - Extra Care, you will be supporting the team in providing housing and assistance to older people (aged 55+), living in our Extra Care schemes which are designed to provide self-contained accommodation and a range of communal facilities such as lounge and dining facilities to residents.
You will be responsible for delivering a person-centred service, to a range of older people with diverse needs in order to promote independence and encourage them to live safely and participate as part of the wider community to reduce social isolation. It is important that you able to work collaboratively, as you will be liaising with other colleagues and external bodies to ensure an appropriate, timely and comprehensive service is delivered. This includes the effective management of all aspects of the building including dealing with contractors and visitors, regular estate inspections, managing tenancy breaches, promoting community events and identifying any health and safety issues.
Your responsibilities will include providing a comprehensive management service to our residents to enable them to maintain their tenancies. You will also work in partnership with the on-site Care & Support provider who operates 24 hours a day.

This role is being offered on a permanent basis, working 37 hours per week at our extra care scheme in Bath. Bandwidth hours will be 8am - 4pm.

About The Candidate
To be considered for the role of Scheme Manager - Extra Care, you will be required to have:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively deal with managing anti-social and challenging behaviours.
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits. (D)
  • Full, valid UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle
  • Ability to demonstrate skills to support individuals through influencing and negotiating.
  • Experience of working with statutory and voluntary agencies/health professionals. (D)
  • Experience of advocacy - working in partnership with other agencies on behalf of residents.(D)
  • Demonstrates an understanding of adult vulnerabilities and the needs of older people and the role of prevention in maintaining health and wellbeing.
  • Promoting independence wherever possible
  • Demonstrates an understanding of bereavement and ability to signpost where required (e.g. counselling services etc).
  • Previous experience of housing, estate management, lettings. (D)
