We are seeking an experienced and passionate Safeguarding Manager to join our team at LiveWest, following the planned retirement of our current colleague. This is a unique opportunity to take on a key role, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable customers across our communities.
As the Safeguarding Manager, you will be responsible for promoting, developing, coordinating and overseeing safeguarding practices at LiveWest. This high profile role will ensure that all safeguarding concerns are handled effectively, with actions recorded, protective outcomes achieved and cases escalated to external authorities when necessary.
Reporting directly to the Director of Neighbourhoods, you will play a pivotal role in leading and motivating colleagues, and embedding our safeguarding responsibilities throughout the organisation.
This is a full time, permanent position, though we welcome applications from people interested in job share or flexible working hours. You can be based in our Exeter, Tolvaddon or Weston-super-Mare offices, with the option for hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the safeguarding strategy, ensuring all cases are managed with appropriate actions and escalation.
- Provide support and guidance to colleagues in identifying and reporting safeguarding concerns, including training on types and signs of abuse.
- Maintain strong partnerships with statutory agencies and challenge professional differences when necessary.
- Oversee case management, ensuring data is tracked, actions are followed up and positive outcomes are achieved to reduce risk and harm.
- Lead on the coordination and development of safeguarding policies, ensuring compliance with legislative frameworks and best practices.
- Manage sensitive information with discretion, supporting colleagues in dealing with difficult cases.
- Collaborate with external partners and agencies to ensure joined-up approaches to safeguarding.
