About The Role

Are you passionate about safety and compliance? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to protecting others? LiveWest is looking for a dedicated Estate Safety Officer to join our team and help us ensure the safety and wellbeing of our customers, colleagues, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fire Safety Compliance: Conduct weekly fire alarm and Automatic Smoke Vent (AOV) testing, monthly emergency light testing, and fire door inspections to ensure all communal areas are safe and compliant.
  • Site Inspections: Perform regular visual site inspections to maintain sterile and safe common areas, and raise waste removal forms to address any issues promptly.
  • Legionella Management: Carry out weekly Legionella water flushes at required outlets, record findings, and report any necessary remedial actions to maintain water safety.
  • Risk Assessments: Complete Scheme Risk Assessments, identifying, quantifying, and prioritising all associated works to ensure comprehensive safety measures are in place.

This role is being offered on a full time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week. This is a field based role, based across the Exeter/Dawlish/Newton Abbott/Torquay area.

About The Candidate

To be successful in your application for the role of Estate Safety Officer, you will have the essential skills and experience for a level one role (please see candidate information pack) and the following role specific skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, Asbestos, and Fire Regulations/Legislation.
  • Experience with fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
  • Lone working experience.
  • Knowledge of Property Compliance Regulations/Legislation.
  • Ability to analyse information, make informed judgements, appraise performance and manage risk.
  • Ability to professionally convey information for formal reports.
  • Experience in customer service and handling complaints, both internally and externally.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH qualification.
  • Desirable: ProQual Level 3 in Fire Door Installations, M&E/Construction Apprenticeship, CPD in fire safety management.
