About The Role

If you want to take your first step into a career supporting young people to achieve their potential then we would love to hear from you.

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Youth Development Worker - Tenancy Sustainment, working flexibly across our services in Penzance.

Our supported accommodation services are a member of the Foyer Federation, meaning we take a strength based approach, called Advantaged Thinking, in all the work we do; encouraging young people experiencing homelessness to aim high, dream big and fulfil their ambitions.

What will my working week look like?

Youth Development Workers work Monday to Sunday, 8am to 10pm on a rolling 4 week rota, and are part of a multidisciplinary team on site supporting the young people who can live with us. The role includes some element of lone working, but only for short periods of time.

What will I be responsible for doing?

First and foremost, you will be providing key worker support to our young people. Working through support and action plans, updating risk assessments and risk management plans with them, in order for them to develop the life skills necessary to move on and live independently in the community.

As a specialist in tenancy sustainment you will ensure that young people are able to maintain their excluded licence and tenancies and can access services that are appropriate to their needs, strengths and aspirations.

One of the great things about this role is being able to bring your own personality. Our young people come from a wide range of backgrounds and we try to mirror that in our team of colleagues.

This role is being offered on a part time, permanent basis, working 29.6 hours per week. Bandwidth hours will be 8am to 10pm.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable groups, and expect all colleagues to share this commitment. Appointment to the post will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
