About The Role

Are you passionate about supporting young people to thrive? As a Nights Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in delivering a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for 16–25-year-olds in our accommodation-based service. You’ll provide professional out-of-hours support, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents while helping them work towards positive outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide housing management, welfare advice, and support to help young people sustain accommodation. 
  •  Ensure the safety and security of the building and its residents at all times
  •  Engage proactively with young people, offering guidance, signposting, and emotional support. 
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of customer interactions, risk assessments, and incidents. 
  •  Conduct room and building checks, reporting repairs and ensuring health and safety compliance. 
  •  Respond to emergencies and safeguarding concerns, liaising with external agencies as needed. 
  •  Promote customer involvement through consultation and feedback activities. 
  • Manage low-level anti-social behaviour and support young people in resolving disputes.

This role is being offered on a full time basis working 37 hours per week from 7pm - 6am, on a 4 nights on 4 nights off basis. This is field based position.

About The Candidate

To be successful in your application for the role of Nights Support Worker, you will have the essential skills and experience for a level 1 role (please see candidate information pack) and the following role specific skills and experience: 

  • Experienced in working with young people, particularly those facing homelessness or complex needs. 
  •  Knowledgeable about safeguarding, housing and welfare benefits, and risk management. 
  •  Confident in lone working, with strong communication and problem-solving skills. 
  •  Able to maintain professional boundaries and build trust with vulnerable individuals. 
  •  Comfortable working weekends and managing a varied workload.

Qualifications: 

  • Level 3 qualification (or working towards) in youth work, health and social care, mental health, or housing. 
  •  IT literacy and strong written communication skills. 
  •  Understanding of Ofsted supported accommodation regulations and the Children’s Act 1989 (desirable).
  •  Desirable: Mental Health First Aid, Safeguarding certification, Coach qualification.
