About The Role

As a Tenancy Sustainment Worker, you will support LiveWest customers to maintain their accommodation and build the skills and confidence they need to successfully manage their home. You will help ensure customers have access to appropriate services, support and good quality accommodation, in line with our values, policies and operational standards.

Working closely with support colleagues and external agencies, you will play a key role in helping customers sustain their excluded licences and tenancies, maximise their income, and access the right services at the right time. Ultimately, you will be making a real difference to the lives of vulnerable people in a supported housing setting.

Key responsibilities

  • Support customers to understand and comply with their licence or tenancy agreement, project rules and their rights and responsibilities.
  • Carry out intensive housing management, including regular property inspections, arranging repairs, managing rent accounts and addressing tenancy/licence breaches such as access, abandonment and anti-social behaviour.
  • Work proactively with customers to ensure rent is paid regularly and on time, supporting them to claim Housing Benefit and other welfare benefits to minimise debt.
  • Promote safety and wellbeing by following safeguarding, risk assessment and health and safety procedures, including ensuring access for gas servicing, fire safety checks and other statutory inspections.
  • Help customers access appropriate support services and agencies, and where necessary, assist them to move on to alternative accommodation.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with internal colleagues, contractors and external stakeholders to support positive outcomes for customers and LiveWest.
  • Encourage customers to use heating, controls and equipment in a safe and cost-effective way, helping them manage their homes sustainably.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing good practice and new ways of working that improve service delivery and outcomes.
