About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Performance Analyst to join our Development and Investment directorate. In this role, you will help us turn complex commercial and operational data into meaningful insights that support decision‑making across Asset Management Commercial. Your work will play a vital part in improving performance, strengthening commercial value, and supporting the delivery of LiveWest’s asset and investment programmes.
 
You will analyse large datasets, develop insightful dashboards, support performance reporting, and work collaboratively with teams and partners to ensure data is understood and used effectively. This is a great role for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, improving processes, and making an impact through high‑quality data and analysis.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collate, cleanse and interpret commercial and operational data to support informed decision‑making.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, data models and analytical tools to present clear and actionable insights.
  • Analyse contractor and works performance data to identify trends, risks and opportunities to improve service delivery and value.
  • Support monthly performance and financial reporting for internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Lead or support process mapping, documentation and improvement activities to enhance accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Create and maintain risk management records, ensuring updates are monitored and acted upon.
  • Conduct data quality assurance checks and support automation of reporting processes.
  • Work collaboratively with teams, suppliers and partners to drive commercial improvements and embed data‑driven decision‑making.

Hybrid working is available for this role, working 2–3 days in the office dependent on business need. You will be based from our Exeter, Weston or Tolvaddon office.

About The Candidate

To be successful in your application for the role of Commercial Performance Analyst, you will have the essential skills and experience for a Level 1 role (please see candidate information pack) and the following role‑specific skills and experience:

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and produce meaningful insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience working in a customer‑focused environment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records and documentation.
  • Ability to build reliable and efficient data models.
  • Skilled at identifying anomalies, outliers and data quality issues.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (e.g. formulas, pivot tables; basic VBA desirable).
  • Experience working with large datasets and understanding of data management practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem‑solving.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of analytical tasks.
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality and basic compliance requirements.

Essential Qualifications

  • Educated to Level 3 (A‑Level, BTEC or equivalent relevant work experience).
  • Evidence of continuous professional development in a relevant area.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience in a housing association, construction, maintenance or commercial services environment.
  • Knowledge of Power BI (data modelling, DAX, dashboard development) and asset/housing management systems.
  • Experience in designing, documenting or auditing business processes.
  • Experience working with databases and producing structured reports.
  • Familiarity with SQL or similar query languages.
  • Experience using process‑mapping tools (e.g. Visio, Miro, Nintex).
  • Understanding of risk management frameworks.
  • Experience using automation tools such as Power Automate.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and forecasting methods.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Degree or professional qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. Maths, Business, Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science).
  • Power BI certification or formal training (e.g. PL‑300).
  • Qualifications in data analysis, SQL or statistical modelling.
  • Training in process improvement or quality management (e.g. Lean Six Sigma).
  • Project management or change management training (e.g. PRINCE2, APM).
  • Training in process‑mapping tools (e.g. Visio, BPMN).
