About The Role

We are currently seeking a Team Leader to lead a team of Support Workers to deliver a high‑quality, responsive and person‑centred service to our customers, within our New Horizon Scheme in St Austell.
 
You’ll work closely with the Team Manager to ensure safe, supportive and well‑governed services, while helping people living in our schemes to achieve positive outcomes and greater independence.
You’ll be confident thinking creatively, responding to complex situations, and providing clear guidance and support to your team in line with best practice and LiveWest policies.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing all aspects of case management to ensure support meets the needs of people living in supported accommodation.
  • Supporting the Team Manager with day‑to‑day supervision of the team, ensuring compliance with governance, policy and procedures.
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, including local authorities, to respond to safeguarding concerns and meet legislative requirements.
  • Maintaining oversight of referrals to ensure an appropriate and balanced mix of residents within the schemes.
  • Promoting effective risk assessment and risk management, challenging practice where appropriate.
  • Supporting the delivery of commissioned outcomes and internal performance targets.
  • Assessing customer support needs and ensuring clear, documented support plans are in place and reviewed regularly.
  • Supporting, developing and inducting team members so they can achieve their objectives and fulfil their potential.

About The Candidate

To be successful in your application for the role of Team Leader – Supported Housing, you will have the essential skills and experience for a Level 2 role (please see candidate information pack) and the following role specific skills and experience:
 
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
  • Experience of supporting vulnerable people with a range of support needs using person‑centred support planning.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding principles to ensure the welfare and rights of children, young people and adults are protected.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, services and multi‑agency working within supported housing or similar settings.
  • Experience of risk assessment and risk management, applying a balanced and common‑sense approach.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers, colleagues and external partners.
  • Effective communication skills, including the confidence to have difficult conversations and challenge appropriately.
  • Resilience and the ability to work under pressure in challenging situations and with challenging behaviours.
  • Competent IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office and case management systems, with the ability to maintain accurate records and write clear reports.
  • A full, valid driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle.
Desirable skills, knowledge and qualifications:
  • Line management or supervisory experience.
  • Experience of facilitating groups.
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • Safeguarding and/or Mental Health First Aid certification.
  • Good presentation skills.
