About The Role

Are you an experienced operational leader with a strong background in property repairs, maintenance and contract management? We're looking for a Regional Operations Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality property services across a regional portfolio, ensuring excellent outcomes for our customers and value for money for the business. You will lead and develop a large team of managers and operational colleagues, overseeing performance and service delivery across multiple workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of responsive repairs, planned maintenance, empty homes, and minor works programmes across the region.
  • Manage regional budgets, resources and operational performance to ensure services are delivered efficiently and provide value for money.
  • Drive high levels of customer satisfaction through the delivery of a quality, right-first-time service and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, coach and develop a large operational workforce, creating a high-performing and engaged team culture.
  • Manage supply chain performance, ensuring works are delivered safely, compliantly and to agreed standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, health and safety requirements, regulatory standards and internal policies.

About the Candidate

To be successful in your application for the role of Regional Operations Manager, you will have the essential skills and experience for a level 3 role (please see candidate information pack) and the following role specific skills and experience:

Essential Skills, Experience and Knowledge

  • Significant leadership experience within a property repairs, maintenance, housing or construction environment.
  • Experience managing large operational teams and multiple service delivery workstreams.
  • Strong budget management experience with responsibility for financial planning, forecasting and cost control.
  • Experience managing contractors and driving performance against service standards and KPIs.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at all levels.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation, compliance requirements and safe working practices.

Essential Qualifications

  • Good general education supported by relevant experience in a construction, maintenance or property-related environment.
  • Health and Safety qualification or equivalent experience (such as SMSTS, IOSH or NEBOSH Construction Certificate).
  • Valid UK driving licence.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.

Desirable Skills, Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Level 4 or 5 qualification in a construction, asset management or related discipline (CIH, HNC, HND or equivalent).
  • Management qualification or training (ILM, CIH or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of social housing repairs and maintenance services.
  • Experience using repairs management, work planning or workforce management systems.
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience delivering value for money.
  • Experience leading service improvement, change management or transformation initiatives.

Please note: This role is not eligible for CoS. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the role without requiring a CoS.
